Two men were taken to hospital, one in critical condition, following a shooting in a north Edmonton alley Friday morning.

City police were called to an alley near 103 Street and 132 Avenue around 3:50 a.m. on a weapons complaint, said EPS spokesman Scott Pattison in an email.

Police were told that gunshots were heard being fired in the alley during a confrontation between several people. One of the men taken to hospital was in critical condition with what police believe to be a gunshot wound while the other was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Pattison said the age of the men are not currently known and there are no suspect or vehicle descriptions available at this time.
