Two teens and a youth are facing homicide charges after a fatal Tuesday assault at a northern Alberta First Nation, say RCMP.
Fort Vermilion RCMP were called Tuesday to a medical centre in John D’or Prairie where a man was said to have been assaulted and dropped off, police said in a Saturday news release. The victim, Nathan Nanooch, 25, later died from his injuries.
An autopsy by the Edmonton Medical Examiners office on Friday determined Nanooch died by homicide.
John D’or Prairie is roughly 743 km north of Edmonton.
Montana Tallcree, 18, Caden Nanooch, 19, and a youth who cannot be named, are charged with second-degree murder.
Following a judicial hearing, all three have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Vermilion this Tuesday.
