A wildfire burning west of Edmonton is now 100 per cent contained.
The wildfire, burning in the area of Township Road 522 and Range Road 63, prompted an emergency alert on Friday for residents in the area to be prepared for possible evacuation. At the time it was 12 hectares in size.
With the help of overnight rain and crews working at the scene, as of 9:30 a.m. Monday, the wildfire was 100 per cent contained, Parkland County said in an update posted on Twitter.

The wildfire is still active and crews will continue to attack it from the fire perimeter inwards.
Drivers are asked to avoid Township Road 522 from Highway 759 to Highway 22 and to take alternate routes. As there is additional water equipment on scene, speed limits on Township Road 522 have been reduced between Range Road 63 and Range Road 65.
Smoke may also limit visibility on the roads and drivers are asked to use extreme caution.
