A woman that was struck by a train in southeast Edmonton on Tuesday morning has died from her injuries, police say.
Around 7:25 a.m. on Tuesday, the 34-year-old woman, who was walking westbound on a sidewalk in the neighbourhood of Tamarack, tried to run across the CN railway tracks at Maple Road near 8 Street when she was struck by a train, said Scott Pattison, communications advisor with the Edmonton Police Service.
Pattison said the woman was hit by the front of a northbound train and was taken to hospital in critical condition. The woman died from her injuries on Wednesday.
